Objectives

The DCR 2000 provides four essential functions.

  • She will unwind and rewind left to right and right to left both to and from inside wound or outside wound labels.
  • She will rewind labels to a predetermined batch count whilst counting the full mother reel.
  • Detect missing labels or waste matrix faults and stop automaticaly to rectify the same via a powder brake system.
  • The web is easily viewed and controled as it is designed with an inclined surface.

It is also possible to realise a fifth and important task, that of consecutive numbering via the introduction of an inket printing head. The DCR200 IJ has an increased table area to facilitate the drying of the ink plus universal mounting bracketry for the head itself.( the ink jet printing system is not included and is not normaly suplied by Smag).

The SMAG range of slitter rewinders the “C4R+” comprises of three models and two web width’s, the “BASE”, “INTERMEDIATE” and “ADVANCED” models existing in two web width’s of 350mm and 420mm. As with all equipment manufactured by SMAG GRAHIQUE the range is completely modular, thus the purchase of a “BASE” unit enables the same to evolve into the INTERMEDIATE or the ADVANCED model simply by upgrading with additional equipment, now there is no need to try to second guess your potential future requirements you can adapt as the need arises, cost savings are made immediately not possibly or eventually.

With all the models of the C4R+ it is possible to add a rotary die cutting station which this is taken directly from the COMET range of equipment (see the Comet/Jupiter/RFID brochures), turning your inspection unit into a converting system in one stroke.

The Base Model Specification:

  • Rewinding slitting and trimming with precise re reeling provided by an electronic web guiding system.
  • Rewinding to a single pneumatic rewind mandrel, with a label or roll length counter and programmable auto stop.

The Intermediate Model:

All details as the base model with the following additional equipment;

  • A control system to detect faults in the waste matrix removal, and a programmable stop position at the second splicing table.
  • The possibility to add a “clear on clear” photocell system to provide a 100% inspection system.

The Advanced Model:

All details as the Intermediate model plus the following additions;

  • Two pneumatic rewinding mandrels, each mandrel is interchangeable, each shaft is completely independent providing the operator with either a “simultaneous” or “alternative” rewinding modes. This model provides the advantage of loading, unloading and re-coring whilst rewinding on the other mandrel, effectively producing “a manual non-stop system”. As with the intermediate model, faulty waste removal and programmable stop at the second splicing table, is standard.
  • Possibility to use “clear on-clear” photocells to provide 100% inspection.

The VENUS is a slitter rewinder inspection machine with a semi automatic turret rewinder available in web width 350 mm and 420mm.  As all the SMAG range, the Venus is a modular machine which can be retrofitted later with rotary die cutting stations in order to evoluate to the COMET + range.

Purposes and functions:

The Venus enable the following functions :

  • Length slitting. The slitting and rewinding accurancy is provided thanks to an ultra sonic web guide.
  • Inspection of missing labels, matrix defaults and flag with automatic stop of the errors on the second splicing table. Possibility to use also ultra sonic sensors for clear and clear material and 100% quality controll feature.
  • Rewind on one shaft preselected length or labels quantity, and to position at the same time the next rewinding shaft. The shaft will have been previously mounted with pre-glued carton cores and as a result, the down time of the Venus will be considerably reduced. Furthemore a pressure arm will apply strips on the pre-glued carton core and will again reduce to a minimun the set up time

The NEPTUNE is a sit-down slitter rewinder available in two web width : 350 and 420 mm.

Purposes and functions:

The Neptune enable the following functions :

  • Length slitting. The slitting and rewinding accurancy is provided thanks to an ultra sonic web guide.
  • Inspection of missing labels, matrix defaults and flag with automatic stop of any errors on the second splicing table. Possibility to use also ultra sonic sensors for clear and clear material and 100% quality controll feature (cf QA 100).
  • Rewind on one shaft preselected rolls or label quantity.
